The Asia-Pacific region has some of the most egregious consumers of pirated content in the world. According to this report, more than 24%, 28% and 45% of consumers in Hong Kong, the Philippines and Thailand, respectively, admit to using illicit streaming devices for pirated video content. This 2019 report (published in October 2018) also identifies ad-supported piracy.
