Irish Times: Court orders block on illegal streaming of English football matches

“People who illegally stream live English Premier League football matches will find the service blocked when the season kicks off next month following a court order.

The judge in the case cited a survey of 2,000 adults: ’36 per cent said they accessed material they were not entitled to, with 19 per cent admitting they accessed premiership matches this way.'”

Why it matters: Regulators are making unprecedented moves to reduce video piracy.  This particular ruling applies to the major video providers serving Ireland.
