ALIANZA (The Alliance Against Audiovisual Piracy) and Dimayor (the Major Division of Colombian Professional Football) announced a partnership to strengthen protection of Colombian football’s audiovisual rights and curb illegal streams on websites and apps. The initiative aims to reduce audiovisual fraud, protect fans from scams and data theft on unofficial platforms, and ensure the value of broadcast rights flows back to clubs and the wider football ecosystem.
According to local reporting (source below), “Colombian professional soccer, due to its relevance and passion in the region, is a constant target for piracy networks. The collaboration … (intends to ensure) that the value generated by sport returns to clubs, leagues and the entire production chain that makes the show possible.”
