The Danish The Patent and Market Court handed down on a verdict regarding the man who was recently charged for his involvement in the illegal IPTV service IPTV King.

After reviewing both financial and digital evidence, including communications and images, the Court found that the man has been involved in the work with IPTV King. However, they concluded that the man may have had the relevant images and sent the relevant messages without having had direct involvement in the administration of the illegal service.

For example he may have been involved in another illegal IPTV service, wrote the court. He may also have discussed and exchanged information with other administrators of IPTV King, or another service, without having been involved in the administration himself. According to the court, the submitted report does not rule out these possibilities with sufficient certainty. The man is thus acquitted.

The prosecutor states that he will appeal the sentence. The prosecutor will also propose that the case be tried by the Patent and Market Court together with the previous case regarding the administration of IPTV King when a man is convicted for his involvement. The earlier conviction has been appealed by both the prosecutor and the convicted man, and the case is scheduled to be heard by the Patent and Market Court in April.

IPTV King was previously Sweden’s largest illegal IPTV service. In just two years, 2017–2019, the suspects received over 46 million kronor in Swish payments alone. In addition to this, they have also received payments via bitcoin. The links between IPTV King and international organized crime were clear. IPTV King was a dealer directly to one of the world’s largest illegal IPTV services, which was then called IPTV Stack and was administered mainly from Spain. In 2020, coordinated strikes took place in several countries, including several people in Sweden.

During the investigation, both money transfers and communication between the suspected Swedes and the main suspect in IPTV Stack were found. House searches took place simultaneously in Sweden and Spain on the suspects. At the time, one of the men’s homes in Sweden was monitored in real time by the Spanish main suspect. According to Spanish police, the suspects seem to have started several companies to launder the income from the illegal IPTV business.
