This collaboration extends upon ongoing efforts by Globe to stem piracy. In 2019, Globe supported regulation that would empower regulators to require Internet service providers to remove infringing content from their platforms, and those which don’t could have their licenses revoked, according to a report by the Philippine News Agency.
Globe also runs a consumer education initiative called #PlayItRight.
Why it matters
Collaboration among content owners, distributors, industry stakeholders, technology providers, law enforcement and regulators – coupled with consumer outreach – has become a proven formula for success against piracy.
