Connected TV World Summit took place as an online-only event on March 18, 2020, with a reduced set of sessions.  The organizers will reschedule the full event for Fall of 2020.  Sessions that were held online on March 18 are available for streaming as of March 30.

This was one of many event changes and cancellations across our industry, which include, most notably, the annual NAB conference; normally held every April in Las Vegas.  The Asia Video Industry Association has also rescheduled some of its events.

We look forward to a return to normalcy and resumption of these critical industry forums as quickly as possible.

The session that was to be:

The Summit’s original agenda included a segment dedicated to video piracy at 2pm to 3:30pm on Wednesday March 18th, called Protecting Content and its Value.  We expect that the rescheduled conference will include this segment.

That session was to open with a brief introduction to video piracy, followed by presentations by Ivan Verbesselt, SVP Marketing from NAGRA, and Tony Maroulis, Principal Analyst from Ampere Analysis.

This segment was also to include a moderated panel discussion.  Panelists were Mr. Israel Esteban, Executive Director of Technology for beIN Media, Dave Alpert, CTO of Bulsatcom; Rob Pinniger, Associate Director of Content Security for Virgin Media, and Pierre-Alexandre Bidard, VP of Partnerships and Security Product Management for Viaccess-Orca, a company of Orange.

Steve Hawley, Managing Director of Piracy Montor will lead the session and moderate the panel discussion.  Mr. Hawley is also a judge for the Videonet Connected TV Awards, which are presented at this same conference.
